What happens when you marry thoughtful design and superior craftsmanship? You create this classically beautiful home, built to withstand the test of time. Designed by John Wilmott, with over 18 months of design & architectural consultation to ensure that every want and need was met. Brought to reality by master builder Dan Platt of Platt Fine Homes, exceeding the owner’s expectations. Interior designer, Kate Zeidler, provided richly imagined design, for both sophisticated and comfortable living. The level of excellence in every facet of this home will astound you. Step foot inside the over 8000 sq ft interior with 10’ ceilings on the main level, 9’ on the second level and 10’ in the basement and experience how this home stands out from the rest. The formal living room and dining room offer gracious entertaining space with a lounge area separating the rooms, as well as French doors leading to stone patios in front and back. The kitchen has custom cabinetry by Braams, centred around an enormous 11’ marble-topped island, a walk-in pantry and full servery leading to the dining room. The great room features a 14’ coffered ceiling with gorgeous custom built-in cabinetry and spectacular 5.1 surround sound system. The jewel of the home is the den, crafted in solid walnut, with all walls, cabinets and trim hand-milled on site. The solid stone chandelier was custom fabricated to match the room. The second level includes the primary suite with walk-in His & Hers closets and 5pc ensuite bath with steam shower. Three more bedrooms each have their own 3pc ensuite baths. The guest suite with walk-in closet and 3pc bath is intentionally separated from the family’s rooms, providing privacy and comfort. The basement is over 3000 sq ft with 10’ ceilings, heated floors, theatre room with 150” screen and state-of-the-art electronics. The wine cellar is clad in hand-cut stone and stores approximately 600 bottles. Flexible design allows for a home gym, second home office and craft/hobby room which can be adapted to a full living-suite with kitchen, family room, bedroom and ensuite bath. Equipped with space for a future elevator making this home wheelchair accessible on all levels, including a stone ramp leading to the front entrance. The private backyard oasis has a chef’s dream outdoor kitchen, stone patios, 16’ x 34’ in-ground pool with waterfall and artificial turf for easy maintenance. All walkways are heated and never need snow shovelling. The oversized double garage fits 2 cars and an additional garage houses a power lift with access to the backyard. Too many outstanding features to list here.
