The neighbourhood
Tucked in the west end of North Oakville, parts of Westmount are still under construction, which is proof of its desirability for first time buyers and those trading up. Since the mid-00s, this planned community has been re-developed, with modern detached homes making up 80% of the landscape. Sprawling homes of 4,000 square feet sit on beautiful lots while smaller detached and semi-detached homes and townhomes add to the mix of housing types. Typically, lot sizes are smaller here than in more mature neighbourhoods, but Westmount has all the character and charm any family could want.
The amenities
With its abundance of walking trails through greenbelts and forested areas, Westmount is another shining example of a well-planned Oakville community. Shopping and dining are easily accessible from all parts of the area. New schools, such as the recently built Garth Webb Secondary School, and an array of sports facilities and recreation centres round out the nearby amenities for young families and working professionals. Soon, Oakville’s new hospital will be open and easily accessible to the community.
